About a month ago, I visited my pediatrician, Dr. Sackett, for my three year checkup. I was very scared since this was my first time to that clinic since the infamous diabetes diagnosis. The girl who measured me obviously was having an off day. She said I grew only one inch in a year. Yeah, whatever, don't think so! I'm a giant. Here's proof. First, you can see from this scientific chart that I am well over 3 feet tall. I am well on my way to surpassing Mommy's five feet 4 stature in another year or two.
This shows I have clearly grown one and five-eights inches in 6 months. I have also gained a whopping 10 pounds since January. Now granted, on January 9, 2009, I was a very sick little boy and had lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Since then I've gone from 28 pounds to 38 pounds. I fit pretty well in 4 T clothing and my feet are ginormous!
My feet are so big, I've taken to wearing Mommy and Daddy's shoes. I really enjoy these black flats lately, they are very easy to wear. Here I am going for a stroll in my shoes with my DQ ice cream cone. Wonder why it's not melting all over the floor.
Since I'm such a big boy (literally), I've been told I'm running out of space in my crib. I don't really agree with that since I plan on living the rest of my life in that crib. It's like an old trusty friend, it understands me. Sorry Mommy and Daddy, not moving to the big boy bed.
I have been sleeping in here for naps everyday. They are trying to convince me that it's a great place to sleep at night, too. So far, I'm not buying it. I request 'baby bed' every night. I'm guessing when my new sibling comes in a couple of months that she/he will just sleep in my big boy bed. I see no problem with that. Wait, I think I heard Mommy and Daddy say there's something wrong with the baby bed....what? It's 'falling apart'? How can that be? More to come later on this saga...
PS: I also saw my new endocrinologist, Dr Nathan, at the University of Minnesota. I really like him and Mommy and Daddy are extremely pleased with the level of care I'm getting. The doctor actually spent a whole 45 minutes in the room, just talking to us! He seems very friendly, extremely thorough, and very knowledgeable. Mommy and Daddy are excited at the amount of research the U does and really like the diabetic educators. Thanks to those who referred us to the U, and thanks, everyone else for your continued prayers. Life is good.

You just were showing off your ninja skills...the ability to change your appearance, including height, at will.
Beware! I think there is a manufacturing defect with cribs when new babies come. My crib "broke" too when Ryan came and I was forced to sleep in my big girl bed. The good part is, is that you can get up and roam at will – except my parents put the baby gate up keeping me inside my room. That's okay, I can yell REALLY LOUD.
Wow, all great tips! Auntie Beth, I am working on my great Ninja skills. I've been known to throw various objects out of my bed with Ninja like precision. Cousin Ellen, I still haven't figured out I can get out of my big boy bed without permission. Wow. I have a lot to learn!
