Finally!

Expert Kitty Rider AJ approaches his subject. He knows this kitty is very ferocious and fast to escape. He must plan his moves carefully.

Alas! Another successful kitty riding adventure. Finally caught on the camera for all to see. Miss Kitty looks kinda squished by AJ's massive body weight. Don't worry, she has lots of girth to cushion her.

Garden Update

Hi again, everyone! Just a quick update on the front garden. Hang on, I have to yell at Daddy--get to work, Daddy, no slacking! Okay. Now, here's the good news: Mommy and Daddy are almost halfway done with the project.

Daddy has been working hard pounding bricks into the ground while Mommy loads up the wheelbarrow with dirt and dumps it in the new garden. Sounds like loads of fun. I wish I could help. After the dirt is smoothed out, Mommy plants her plants. She has had lots of fun with that. Linders had a 50 percent off sale. Enough said.

Here's the garden so far. The pretty rocks are from the backyard (who knew?) and some are from Grandma and Grandpa T's house. Grandma T loves rocks. I don't know why, don't ask.

Daddy also needed to rid himself of some aggression. He decided to take a sledgehammer to the brick planter on the side of the steps. The planter was as old as the house and was crumbling. Turns out, they built it pretty well, but someone decided to paint it and that ruined the brick. Or it could be the fact that it is 53 years old. Hmmm.

The day after Daddy took out the planter, Miss Kitty (photo: file footage) woke Mommy up at 3 AM with a little present. No, not a furball (she would have preferred that ) but a MOUSE! Turns out there was a hole in the house behind the planter that a mouse was able to crawl through. Mommy was very grossed out but was happy Miss Kitty has such wonderful mousing skills. Daddy has always been saying Miss Kitty needs a job, and now she has one. Hopefully she won't find anymore mice.

I did a great job supervising the work Daddy and Mommy completed from my blanket post. I will keep you updated...

A Busy Weekend

Another whirlwind weekend has come and gone. On Saturday, we went up to St Croix state park for a picnic. I had fun sitting on a blanket in the shade. I am gearing up for my next trip--to Iowa in a few weeks to see Grandma and Grandpa F and to spend time with Great Nana. I can't wait!

Cousin Alyssa models in her spare time. Note the color coordinated pink purse.

Lily was busy telling us the story of her life. She has had a very eventful 6 months so far. Cousins Joe, Julia and Nate were unavailable for photos--all were busy swimming and gathering snails in the nearby lake. Sounds gross to me.

Finally, on to Jakey. My spontaneous cousin. He really wanted to go swimming in the lake, but Uncle Donnie didn't have his swim suit with him. So, what's the next best thing? Playing under the drinking fountain!

Cousin Jakey is going through a 'naked' phase. He loves to take his clothes off and be naked. I cannot wait to go through MY naked phase!

He also LOVES to run around like a crazy dude. Oh, I can't wait to run around with him.

Darn diaper, always bringing him down.

Is there anything better than water? I don't think so!

AJ of Arabia

Whew! Sorry I've been so slow in blogging lately, I just came back from an oasis vacation.

A vacation, you say? That's right. I traveled 15 whole minutes to South Minneapolis to see my cousins Jakey and Lily.

They have this thing called a sandbox and it has this grainy substance called sand in it. The hip thing to do in South Minneapolis is play in the sandbox. I know, weird concept, huh? As they say, 'When in South Minneapolis, do as the South Minneapoliatins do', or something like that.

After a few pointers from Mommy, I got the idea. Playing in the sand is fun, and I don't get in trouble for getting sand in my diaper.
Holy cow! Did you guys see that? An oasis wave of sand just pushed me over! (That's what I told them to make it sound better--I actually just fell over)

Don't worry, I'm okay. I was just trying to explore the bottom of the sandbox. I didn't fall, really. (wink wink)

What the heck. Just as I am getting to understand this sandbox oasis, Grandma has to throw in a new activity in the mix. Bubbles? Why are there bubbles out here?

I'm so confused. I thought bubbles only happened in the bath. Look, one of them landed on my nose!Grrrrrrrr

I'll get you, you stinkin' bubble.

You got away this time, bubble, but I will get you. Oh yes, I will get you--it's not over.

To be continued...

Management: 101

Hi again. Things are very crazy around here. Mommy and Daddy must not be busy enough with me--they decided to add another garden to the front of our house.

I have taken on the job of Project Manager. Hmm, I seem to have lost my pants. No matter.

My duties include: Spitting, squealing, screaming as loud as possible for no apparent reason, eating corn puffs and generally being cute "eye candy" for the passers-by.

Get to work, Daddy! No slacking! I am a strict manager. By the way, Daddy put in the new yard light by himself and did all the wiring and installation. It is really cool, it has a photo sensor on it so it turns on by itself at night. My Daddy is so smart!

On a side note, this is the location of the new shed Daddy is going to build this summer. Wow, he is a busy guy! I sure hope he lets me help. I could add some baby drool and barf to the shed.

Mommy also wanted me to show you her prize Siberian Iris. I guess it grew extra large this year. I don't quite know the significance of this, but she seems to think it is quite interesting. She keeps talking about me getting a "green thumb" from her. I hope it is not contagious!

Cousin Julia Is 6 (5 days early)

Howdy y'all--this here is Cowboy AJ along with Cowgirl Lily coming to you from the lovely city of Plymouth, Minnesota. Saturday was Julia's 6th birthday party and she had a horse theme this year. Saddle up, pardner!

What?!? There were pony rides and I missed it? Why was I not informed of this? Mommy said I missed the pony rides because I had to take my nap or something, I don't know what she said 'cause I was sleeping and not paying attention. Silly Mommy, talking at me when I'm sleeping.

But, who needs a real pony when you have your very own plastic pony like me? (file footage)

I picked out a cool present for Julia. It is a kitty that meows, purrs and kneads its paws when you pet its back. Julia loves kitties, just like me. I am a kitty rider, or a kitty whisperer as they say in the business. Plus, did you know that Julia's kitty, Gracie, is my kitty's (Stinky, AKA Miss Kitty or the Bucking Bronco) daughter? Wow, that was hard to keep straight!

Here's Julia blowing out the candle on her tree of horsey cupcakes. We had a heck of a good time and no horseys were injured in the making of this birthday party. Afterward we all rode off into the sunset...happy trails to you, until we meet again.

Riding Lessons

Look what I got! Jake, Molly and Emma (my neighbor friends across the street) came over yesterday and gave me this rocking horse. They are too old to ride it any longer and thought I could use some riding lessons.

Little do they know, I am already a renowned kitty rider. My record time is 28 seconds before being thrown off the kitty.

This will give me excellent practice so I can improve my kitty riding time and get in the Guinness Book of World Records.

You want pictures of my kitty riding adventures? Mommy and Daddy haven't been able to capture it yet on camera. Seems those wild kitties are hard to round up. Yee Haw!!!
