One Busy Weekend

Did you have a good Memorial Day weekend? I sure did. The festivities started on Saturday with a fun party at an indoor gym to celebrate Jakie's fourth birthday. Ahhh, it seemed like just minutes ago that he was 3...how time flies. Anyway, the park was pretty cool.

It took me a while to warm up to the idea of crazily running free, but eventually I did. Here I am at the end of a slide--I cried on the way down. It had a really steep drop and I didn't expect it. What? So I'm not that adventurous, there's nothing wrong with that!

Daddy took it upon himself to be my personal tour guide. Here I am pointing to the spot I wanted to be: the ground.

I trudged on with Daddy and we kept climbing higher and higher and higher.

Holy cow, don't look down, Daddy.
We had lots of fun tearing around like crazy kids. Daddy said he had fun being put in 'jail' by all the cousins. Apparently everyone thinks my Dad needs to be incarcerated. I certainly hope they don't know something I should know...

Two hours later we went back to Jakie's house. The entire area was decorated in Super Mario Brothers stuff! It was cool. He was so excited to see everything up and decorated. I'm not sure how he did it, but he was able to blow out four entire candles in one breath. That takes a lot of air to blow out that many candles.
After a delicious meal of pizza and cake, we all went in the back yard for a pinata. Notice who's missing from this photo? No, not baby Devin (he's only 6 months old, come on), but ME! I decided to be a rebel and hang out with Daddy instead. Never fear, I did make out on the loot and didn't have to do any work. See, I'm sneaky.
I even got to miss out on a nap Saturday, it was awesome! I wasn't too crabby, either.
Sunday we headed back to Jakie and Lily's to help uncles Donnie and Ed help put up a new playground. Grandma and Grandpa T showed up a little while later and we had another wonderful meal. I was starving and ate everything on my plate. It helps when my blood sugar is low, and I get really hungry for some reason. Wonder why.
Anyway, I had fun running around with my cousins but ended up getting really crabby around nap time. Mommy decided it was best to leave and I fell asleep in the car, about 10 minutes from home. Just what I needed, a little cat nap. Mommy didn't think that was enough sleep, however, and she stuck me in my crib. I complained, A LOT until she told me to go to sleep. I proceeded to cry myself to sleep but ended up napping until 4:45 pm. Wow, I was zonked. Daddy came home later and said they were closer to finishing the playground, but not yet done. Wow that must be some playground!
On Monday, Mommy had to work and make loot for our family so Daddy and I spent the day together. I was really crabby and still catching up on my sleep. At one point during Sesame Street I grabbed Mr. Blankie, sat up on the chair with Daddy and proceeded to fall asleep with him for a good hour. Mommy was jealous since I never seem to fall asleep on her. I think it's because Daddy is consistently a good 4 degrees warmer than Mommy. Because of his consistent warmer temperature, Mommy insists he's a werewolf but so far that hasn't panned out thankfully.
That brings us to this week, nothing exciting so far except for a trip to the Farmer's Market and grocery store. I'm finally catching up on my sleep and am not nearly as crabby/whiny etc as I had been the past few days. Mommy and Daddy are just excited that I still need my naps. Apparently they need some time away from me. Why? I'm so adorable!

Web Cam Fun

A couple of months ago, Daddy bought a web cam so we could try Skype with family members not in the area. He also noted that we could take pictures from the web cam. Mommy thought it was fun to try and get me going crazy while watching Preschool Musical.

This was about as crazy as I got. I'm telling you, Preschool Musical is Tony Award material! It's enthralling.

While I didn't go too crazy with web cam photos...

I cannot say the same for my parents. Yes, I sometimes hate to admit it, but I am related to them. Wow.

On This Episode...

This week has been an exciting one for me, even somewhat more exciting than the Bobcat incident of last week (although that was pretty darn thrilling). First off, I discovered I can watch all my favorite Sesame Street video clips on the computer. That is, if Mommy and/or Daddy are around to work that darn machine. I get in trouble if I try to push the buttons myself. Hmph.

Anyway, my all time fav is Preschool Musical. Mommy tried to get video of me watching it, but I'm usually so entranced I just sit there in a stupor. Duh, who wouldn't be? The real action comes several hours after I watch it when I start belting out the song and dancing. I'm sly, I tell you, no one will ever see me sing it on camera.

My next favorite thing to do of late is 'read' all my books. I have most of them memorized by the pictures and can blurt them out at any given time.

Dr. Seuss is the all time best author in the world. In fact, I insist he is the author of all my books even if Mommy and Daddy so it isn't so. 'Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?' has been a constant request/demand in the past few weeks. I even go so far as to push all other 'suggestions' aside and insist they read it to me four to five times in a row. The power of a 2 year old...

Mommy caught me in my easy chair blurting out an exerpt from 'Mr. Brown'.

Grandpa F came all the way up here from Iowa to visit this past weekend and help Daddy with some house projects. They got a lot done. He also taught me how to 'bump' and give high fives. It was cool! I liked to call him Daddygrandpa and he seemed to get a kick out of my antics. I am a ham (and I like ham, a coincidence? I think not). At the dinner table, I tooted and shouted out, 'that's a good toot' then continued eating my dinner. Everyone was laughing hysterically. I actually thought I was quite rude tooting at the table. Oh well.

Here's a file footage photo of grandpa and me from 2 years ago. Mommy was lame and didn't pull out the camera this weekend. What the heck? She normally has that thing bolted to her head!

Lastly, today I went to my ECFE year end picnic at the park. Pardon the file footage from last year at the park in Iowa, once again, lame Mommy. No, today's park wasn't in Iowa, just Roseville. But, I had a blast being crazy with my friends and absolutely loved the spiral slide. I played hard for a good hour and my blood sugars showed it as they dropped pretty quickly. Never fear, a juice box is always nearby to help me out!

I'm finally getting over my cold, two weeks later. The same cannot be said for Mommy as she still has a sinus infection of some kind. I hope it's not the swine flu since I wouldn't want her to turn into a pork product. Anyway, Mommy and Daddy are learning how difficult it can be to control my blood sugars when I have a cold. They are getting better at figuring it out, though, and will maybe have it all perfected by the time I go to college.

Excitement in the Suburbs

This. Is. The. Best. Day. Ever.

Look what I woke up to: my very own Bobcat outside my living room window/TV!

Ohmygoshohmygosh. I'm so excited I can't eat my breakfast.

Mommy, be quiet back there. I can't hear you laughing at my excitement. Way to stifle the moment.

Hmmm. Where's the big Roseville truck going to go? Are they going to play chicken on my street, in front of my innocent eyes? I certainly hope it doesn't run over my Bobcat. Someone needs to warn the Bobcat!

I delegate this task to you, Mommy! Now get out there with your bullhorn and direct traffic! We have a Bobcat to save!

PS: sorry for the infrequent blogging. We've all been sick with a major booger cold and haven't felt much like doing anything. A pity, too, with the weather as nice as it is. Bloody shame. Look at me, I'm British!
