Updates and Nate's Birthday Party

Hi again, everyone. Once again, lots of exciting things have been going on around here. I've been so busy dressing up in my puppy costume I haven't had time to give you the low down. So here it is. As you know, Mommy and Daddy have been working on the house and shed. Mommy decided she didn't have enough to do this summer, so she took on the task of painting the whole house exterior. Yep, she's nuts. Tell me what YOU think...

Here's the photo from when Mommy and Daddy moved in, back in 2003. The house is a brick rambler that the previous owner unfortunately painted white with blue trim. Mental note, if you have a brick house, DO NOT paint it. I've been told that is the whole point of brick, you have it so you don't have to paint it. If you are ever thinking of painting your brick house, just talk to Mommy and Daddy. They will talk you out of it.

Here's the photo from this fall. The brick is a neutral brownish color and the trim is a darker shade of brownish color. It's hard to see from this photo, but it does look better. Mommy painted the majority of it herself and used a paint sprayer from uncle Donnie to do the brick and stucco (the sides and back of the house). Daddy helped paint the eaves above the egress windows. Mommy is chicken when it comes to heights, plus Daddy is a foot taller than Mommy. It turned out pretty good. Mommy says the next project is the roof...hmmm...that one could be interesting.

While Mommy was busy painting, Daddy was busy working on the The Beth Shed for Homeless Lawn Equipment . Sure looks nice, huh? It has been 'winterized' and Daddy will start putting the homeless lawn equipment in it. Next year he will worry about organizing the equipment and getting it the way he wants it. He will also paint the trim. Now the focus is working on my new playroom in the basement. Lots to do.

When we're not working on the house/yard, we are busy at birthday parties. This weekend was cousin Nate's 4th birthday party. Here are all the partygoers waiting patiently for a piece of cake.

After the cake is the presents, the best part. Nate received all sorts of cool toys.
Me, playing a musical interlude.

Cousin Joe "singing" (screaming) to his sister, Alyssa. My musical interlude has that effect on people.

The 'hit' present of the day--a crazy dinosaur/hotwheels/car flying toy. It has all the elements of a perfect boy gift: loud, scary, and a large amount of plastic. All in all, a good day!

The shed looks great! I can't wait to help with the next project. AJ if I were you I would change the shed into your personal club house.
