Cousin Jakie is 2 (one week early)

Today was fun. We went to Edinborough Park in Edina for my cousin Jakie's 2nd birthday. It is a big indoor jungle gym and play park. Jakie decided he needed a nap before the birthday festivities occurred, so we waited patiently for his arrival. I donned my hat and started singing my own version of Happy Birthday (ma ma ba ba ba...).

Jakie arrived! He looks ready to party.

Wow, this place is huge!

Joe, Donnie and Jakie playing in the gym (Jakie is escaping).

Even I got in on the action. Daddy put me in the infant swing and I had fun kicking my feet and looking around. Word on the street is Jakie is getting a swingset for his birthday...I think I will be hanging out at his house lots this summer.

They had this cool wall of gears to grab and move around. I had fun figuring out how they work. I think I have my daddy's engineer brain!

Okay, enough play, on to the cake. Diego is the theme this year. Byerly's did a good job, but initially spelled Jakie's name 'Jackie' and forgot to put the word 'birthday' on the cake. The guy who fixed the cake said, "I'm just the baker, I'm not a decorator." Gee, nice customer service.
Jakie didn't care about the cake flub. He was so excited to see his friend Diego on the cake. He blew out the candles at least 5 times and almost fell into the cake he was so thrilled!
I had my first taste of frosting today. It was an experience I will NEVER forget.

Finally, on to the presents. Jakie got a whole bunch of cool toys and presents. Here he is opening up his bubble mower. He shouted "woo hoo" after he opened this one.

He also got a new View Master and was so excited to use it he didn't bother taking it out of the package.

The festivities were so exhilarating I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. At one point during the afternoon, everyone 9 months and younger was sleeping. Must have been something in the air...

Apparently 32 year olds need to sleep after playing on the playground too. Good night, Daddy!

I am not sure you are enjoying that frosting. If not, it must not have been the good stuff. Dont worry Brandy and I will teach you how to be candy/sweet conisuers.

Thanks, Auntie Beth. I seem to like fruits but not candy yet. You love fruits and veggies, right? Especially peas and potatoes mixed together. Yum.

Mmm...green frosting. I bet the next few diapers were pretty exciting for both you and Jakie. Looks like you had fun little man.

I think frosting is just ok. As is whip cream. (0:

What, Cousin El? Your Mommy LOVES Cool Whip, aren't you going to follow suit?
