Thanksgiving: Part 2

On Saturday, we traveled over the river and through the woods to Grandma and Grandpa T's house for another Thanksgiving dinner. We had the traditional turkey dinner with all the fixins. Well, I should say the adults ate most of the traditional turkey dinner. Most of us kids are more selective in our food choices. I liked the turkey and voiced my opposition to the rest of the meal (ie: whined). While our parents were too busy stuffing their faces, we decided to sit nicely on the couch for a photo. We all look so calm.

Ha ha, tricked you! We really weren't calm. It was utter chaos and it was wonderful. Everyone commented on how I never sit, and am constantly moving and exploring. I know, they were all jealous their kids aren't as active as me. I can't wait to see my other cousins at Christmastime--oh the fun we will have. (warning to auntie Rasa, snake photo is next)

I really liked playing with the rubber snakes. They are fun to chew on. This really grosses out auntie Rasa. Apparently Lily likes to chew on snakes too!

Daddy caught me for a few seconds before I had to keep exploring. I sure had fun. Mommy and Daddy were exhausted after this visit, I don't know why. Thanks, everyone, for the fun time.

Thanksgiving 2007

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful day full of food, family and fun. I sure did. I spent the whole morning and afternoon having fun with Daddy while Mommy was at work. He was busy preparing a Thanksgiving feast, so I decided to help. Like my new booster seat? It's a new ploy to try to get me to eat like a big boy--hence, eating at the adult table.

Nice try. Any other smart ideas, Mommy and Daddy? I enjoy dropping my food on the floor and watching it land. Really, I'm just trying to feed Miss Kitty. She always seems to be hungry. Poor kitty, it's like no one feeds her or something. Sometimes Mommy and Daddy let Cashy the tornado come out and clean up my discards. He sure is efficient.

Ugh, I ate too much. Okay, not really. While Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a delicious dinner of chicken parmesan, mashed potatoes, applesauce, and green beans with broccoli and cheese sauce, I had a delectable spread of pears, Goldfish crackers, cheese, 3 green beans and two bites of hard boiled egg. I also tried Daddy's homemade (gluten free) pumpkin pie, but I LOVED the ice cream the best.

Lessons learned in our family today:

1) Wine makes Mommy and Daddy tired. This is the major reason why they don't drink it that often. Plus they can never seem to finish the bottle.

2) Eggs are not as tasty as ice cream.

Here's a Thanksgiving message from my family to yours!

A Rotting Pile of Photosynthesis Makers

Um, hello, why am I in this pile of dead, rotting leaves? This is supposed to be fun?

Let's think about this. I am: 1) getting dirty, 2) surrounded by rotting leaves, 3) told by Mommy and Daddy to have fun with this. I'm not so sure. Yuck, there's leaf dust in my ear.

Get me outta here.

You know, this isn't so bad. Kinda feels like laying on a crunchy bed. I think I'll allow it.

Yeah, I could get used to this.

Wait a minute, who do I hear trampling across the yard?

It's my neighbor friend, Will. He's so cool. He's 4 and I love watching what he does. He had fun un-piling the leaves and making me laugh.

Ha ha ha! This is so much fun! I only wish my best friend, Jakie, could be here. I'll have to remember this moment to tell him all about it.

"Yeah, Jakie, the leaf pile was THIS big!"

Look at me run. I sure had fun in the leaf pile, I can't wait to do it again next year!

And One More Makes 10

10...cousins that is! Meet my newest cousin. Auntie Bonnie, Uncle Todd and cousin Ellen welcomed Ryan O'Connor (this is his middle name and it is his daddy's mommy's maiden name also his daddy's middle name--whew). He was born on November 15 at 12:14 pm.

He weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces at birth. That's ginormous!
Here I am at birth as a comparision. I know, I'm beefcake now, but I started off pretty teensy.
Auntie Bonnie, Uncle Todd and Ryan are doing well. Cousin Ellen doesn't yet know her world will be turned upside down. Hey, at least she will have a little brother to take the blame for her foibles. I'm sure her mommy and daddy will be none the wiser...
