Minnesota State Fair 2009

Waaay back in August, I went with my parents and Grandma and Grandpa T to the MN State Fair.  Needless to say, the mandatory first stop was Machinery Hill.  Holy cow, I've never seen so many awesome tractors and trucks all in one place, all within reach and at my disposal!

While I had an awesome time, I didn't like stopping for photo opportunities.  I had a lot of territory to cover with very little time.  Everyone knows I will be hungry soon.

Holy cow, brand new garbage trucks.  This must be what heaven is like.

They stole me away from Machinery Hill with the lure of animals.  My absolute favorite were the bunnies.  There were hundreds of them!  I kept saying to them, "Hello, baby bunnies."  They were as soft as Miss Kitty but even nicer than her since they didn't run away from me.  Maybe it's because they were in cages, or maybe I'm the bunny whisperer.  I'll never know.

We went to the Swine Barn.  This farmer told me I could go in the pen with the pigs and feed them.  I said, "NO WAY!!!"  Are you serious?  I'll watch from outside the pen thank you very much.

Finally, a partial view of the parade and crowd.  This band is what we thought was the U of M Marching Band.  We came to find out it was the UMD (University of MN Duluth campus) Marching Band.  Why the heck do they know the MN rouser?  Hello, they are the home of the Bulldogs, not the Gophers.  Apparently we came on Imitator Day.

All in all, it was a fun day, despite my episode of low blood sugar followed several hours later by an episode of extremely high blood sugar.  I can't wait until I can tell Mommy and Daddy when I feel funny.  That time will be coming, I just know it!

More Odds and Ends

Mommy's still catching up with the old camera.  Sheesh.  A few months back we decided to start discovering the many parks of Roseville.  This one is called Pocahontas park and no one is ever there, so it's MY park!  Daddy and I enjoy sliding down the twisty slide.  Mommy went down the slide with me once (at 5 months pregnant) and felt like her stomach would pop off so she's opted out since.  Not much of a team player, if you ask me, Mommy.

Here they forced me to take a family photo.  I. Am. Not. Happy.

Here I am incredibly happy.  Grandma T gave me this silly monster a few months back.  I think it was to inevitably torture Mommy since it sings two screamingly loud songs.  Kudos, Grandma, you succeeded.  I LOVE THIS MONSTER!

Here's another monster, my soon to be sibling!  Daddy took this photo of Mommy last week when baby sister (my assumption) had been in Mommy's belly for 36 weeks.  Mommy's gut keeps getting bigger and bigger, she's finding it harder to move around.  In fact, just the other day, Daddy had to help both me and Mommy put our shoes on.  Daddy and I thought it was really funny.  Mommy didn't seem to find the humor in it, I mean, everyone knows I can put my shoes on myself.  Silly Daddy.

Last, but not least, my NEW smile.  Yep, this is how I grin when told to 'smile'.  Mommy and Daddy get a kick out of it every time so I love to do it.  I think they're just glad I'm finally starting to show my pearly whites and don't just run away when told to smile.  Baby steps.

The Infamous Old Camera

Excuses.  That's all I hear from Mommy nowadays.  When I pressed her to blog about little old me, she lamely stated she had no new photos of me.  What?!?  Why have you not been photographing my every move?  Ugh.  I tell ya.  She's slacking.  She did come up with a few new photos from the old crappy camera.

Here I am with Grandma T at the Como Zoo, taken sometime in June or July.  Mommy thought it would be a fun adventure for me to see the animals.  I was only interested in the maintenance crew's four wheeler.  Really.  I cried when I wasn't allowed to stand in its way.

After I expressed my outrage with the zoo, we stopped for an impromtu snack by the pond.  I enjoyed a delicious cheese stick and juice box.  Do you sense my excitement with this adventure?

In July, Cousin Jocelyn and Auntie Mel drove up from Des Moines (West siiiiiide represent) for a little whirlwind girls shopping trip to the MOA.  Do I sense something is amiss?  I am NOT a girl and do not enjoy shopping!  I was not consulted on the events of the day.  Sigh.

Jocelyn is showing me how to throw money in the fountain and make a wish.  I just don't get this 'throwing money away' thing.  Call me thrifty, I like to hang on to my change.  Hey, at least I don't try to eat it anymore.

Jocelyn and I posed outside the Rainforest Cafe.  We enjoyed a wonderful lunch there and endured many thunderstorms.  Auntie Mel was impressed that I didn't get scared of the thunder.  Why should I be afraid of thunder, I wonder--nothing bad happens when it thunders!

Finally, Auntie Mel and Jocelyn pose for a Glamour Shot ouside the Rainforest Cafe.  It sure was nice to see them and I hope they decide to come up here to shop again soon!
