414

414 days ago this happened.

Amazingly, one day ago this opened. An engineering feat, the new 35 W bridge is big, beautiful and strong. Mommy and I were able to drive across it today coming home from Jakie and Lily's house. We both felt sad for the 13 people who lost their lives and we are all hoping nothing that tragic will happen again. Mommy felt safe driving on this bridge as it was designed to last 100 years. Unfortunately we cannot say that for many of our other deteriorating bridges in this state. Hopefully that will CHANGE.

Cousin Alyssa is 2

This weekend we went even farther north than where we live to see cousin Alyssa. She is finally turning two. As you can see, she loves to dress up in frilly girly clothes.

Daddy and I just don't get it.

We all had fun (even though Notre Dam won) and Alyssa got all kinds of strange presents. Dress up shoes, dress up clothes, pillows and blankets and this creepy Cabbage Patch Kid. Who wants a toy that follows you around saying 'I'm hungry'? Girls.

Baa Baa Dee Dee

Hey everybody. Let's have a sing-along. Are you ready? It's simple. You shout when I say 'you' and let me shout when I say 'me'. Got it? Okay, let's sing!

ME: Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

YOU: Baa baa dee dee!

ME: Aborbant and yellow and porous is he!
(Like my mouth horn?)

YOU: Baa baa dee dee!

Whoa, brain fart. I can't remember the lyrics. No fear, Spongebob will return to me. He always does. Hey, I remember now...

ME: If nautical nonsense be something you wish

YOU: Baa baa dee dee!

Be sure to point at your eye during this part. It's really important. Don't ask why, because I don't know.

Miss Kitty, it's all you!

Miss Kitty: then drop to the deck and flop like a fish! (Hmmmm...fish)

YOU: Baa baa dee dee!

Everyone: Ready? Baa baa dee dee, baa baa dee dee, baa baa dee dee, baa baaaaaa deeeee deeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Second Annual Block Party

Hi again, everyone. I hope you are enjoying what's left of summer. We sure have around here. Things have been busy. Between running around outside and running around inside, I just haven't had time to blog. So let's get caught up. A couple weeks ago, we had a big party for my block. When I mean party, I mean party. We had free reign of everything, Cheetos included! It was awesome. I mostly ate cookies and Cheetos for dinner and no one cared. This was the second annual block party for our street. It was neat to see neighbors from way down at the end of the street. One neighbor, Mrs. Johnson, has lived on our street for 55 years and her house was the first one built, way back in 1953. That's REALLY old!

I figured since the street was blocked off, I might as well try my hand at running away.

I need to learn how to run faster. Daddy didn't even have to run to catch up with me. Hmph.

We had so much fun. Mommy tried her best to hold me down with her head while a neighbor-friend, Bonnie, painted a baseball on my face. Hey, doesn't she know I'm a basketball fan? Sheesh. The nerve of some people. I guess I should be happy: the girls all had hearts and flowers on their faces. Baseball is okay.

Meanwhile, Daddy used his stellar coaching skills to entertain the big kids on the block. Look how they are all mesmerized by my Daddy.

I'm pretty mesmerized by him, too.

I was too little to play the water balloon-toss this year. Bummer.

But, the big kids on our street are really nice to me and tried to include me in other games. Mommy and I hung out in the street and our driveway and colored with my sidewalk chalk. I think Cashy ended up eating what was left of the sidewalk chalk. He must have had indigestion.
Of course, just as the fun was beginning, the big Spirit in the Sky decided we needed a downpour.

That's okay. We needed the rain and it only lasted about 10 minutes. In the meantime, under the eaves of our house I entertained Mommy and Daddy with my silly faces. I was pretty much hysterical at this point. Hey, when else am I encouraged to run around nutso in the streets? AWESOME!

After the rain left, things got a bit out of hand. The cops came for Emma. She said she always knew this day would happen. Poor Emma.

What the heck is this big thing?

Cool, a fire engine! The one I have sure isn't this big.

We all took a few seconds to pose with a fireman.

We had an awesome turnout and nice weather. After the rainstorm, of course.

Later on, all us kids had a parade for the old folks (anyone over the age of 13).
Everyone decorated their vehicle. Here's my rockin' wagon, AKA: the AJ Mobile. Like my streamers?
Here's the end of the parade and day for me. No fair. I had to go to bed while everyone else got to stay up and roast marshmallows and watch fireworks. Actually, I really didn't care. I was so tired from running nonstop that I fell asleep within seconds of laying down. I had so much fun and can't wait for next year's block party.
