My pal Miss Kitty and I are watching TV.
Window TV, of course. There's nothing more exciting than watching the sprinkler in the front yard.
Mama, can Miss Kitty and I go play in the sprinkler? We promise we won't run in the street (wink wink).
A site to see photos, videos, musings, etc. of little Alexander James and anything else we think is cool. The goal is an update at least once a week. If there's more excitement and time, we'll put in more. It's your site, AJ, so smile and 'Say Cheese.'
Look what I found on the patio the other day--a sand and water table. I wished and wished and wished and it finally showed up. Yea!
My vast engineering experience tells me this is very sturdy construction. After all, it is made in the USA (of US and imported parts).
What does one do with a sand and water table? Let me show you.
Since there's not yet any sand to eat, you find a cup (leftover from your birthday party) and drink the water! This water is delicious. Cassius has not had a chance to drink from it so it doesn't taste dog spit tainted. Should I report Mommy to the Health Department? I think so. Letting me drink dog water. Hmph.
Here's the next fun thing to do: find the water plug and pull it, letting all the water spill out. You can see the water streaming out if you look closely.
Where'd the water go? I didn't do it, honest.
Hi. Stupid water got in my eye. This pretty much sums up my opinion of my backyard water splash fest party this weekend. Was I consulted in the party planning? If so, I would have told my parents this idea: a door opening/closing party. Everyone would open and close doors for at least 2 hours. Now that sounds like a party.
But, since no one consulted me, I guess I'll join in the festivities. Here's Daddy 'helping' (forcing) me down the slide. I told him once is enough, thank you. I wonder if anyone likes the pool?
Looks like Joe is having a good old time.
The boys were splashing it up good and being their normal crazy selves.
Alyssa's practicing for the next doggie riding championship.
Everybody else is having a blast. I better be a happy little camper and put my game face. After all, there's cake and presents to come, so I have incentive. I'm just a little nervous, a little shy.
First I need a drink. A big drink.
It's so convenient having this fresh water spring in my own backyard.
Here, Lil. Have one on me. Did you like my joke?
I'm enjoying my mudbath. I wish I could always take my baths in mud. Now that's a birthday present!
Here's my cake. It sure is cool, don't you think? I used to love the Spongebob Squarepants theme song. I used to giggle and laugh. Yeah, that was so last week. I'm over Spongebob. Thomas is the way to go now. Oh well. Mommy and Daddy tried, I guess.Just waiting.
And waiting. I think I'll sing a song: Twinkle twinkle little star, that's Elmo's world spongebob squarepants! I'm so bored. Where's this cake anyway?
Oh, there it is. Looks pretty cool. Alright, let's eat. Wait, why is everyone staring at me? What's everyone doing?
Aaaahhhhh! Stop singing! Everyone knows 'Happy Birthday' is sung in the key of C, not F minor! My poor, burning ears!
Whew. The singing stopped and the eating finally began.
I love cake. It's part of my favorite food group: Blue.
Next on to the presents. Thankfully no more singing ensued and I was free to run amok. I chose not to, however.
Mommy and Jakie helped open my presents.
I was too busy manning the cash register. I can't believe they trust me with money, I'm only 2. But, I am a genius.
Everyone else watched on and relaxed. It was nice. All my aunties, uncles and cousins from my Mommy's side were there and Deepa and Deeba T were as well. Deepa and Deeba F and Great Nana were able to make it here on Friday and stayed through Monday. Auntie Becky, Uncle Stevie, Cousins Brayden and Claire were even able to stop by on Sunday. I was so happy to see everyone and catch up on old times. We read lots of books and they learned the art of Duplo building.
I even let Deepa hold me!
Here's a photo with Deepa and Deeba F and Great Nana. Oh, Mommy and Daddy are there too. I'm studying my feet.
I sure am one crazy kid. Mommy and Daddy love me, though and are surprised how fast two years have gone. Here's to many more!
Wow. What a day. I woke up to Mommy singing "Happy Birthday" to me. I tell ya, I was not in the singing mood. She sang it anyway and I decided I could crack a small smile. Then we went on an adventure to the farmer's market, Target and the meat store to pick up tenderloin steaks. Hmm. I don't eat steaks, why are we eating steaks?
Oh yeah, duh, it's the year of 02--my birthday! Jakie, Lily and auntie Rasa stopped by with McDonald's and Cars cupcakes. I sure like my birthday. Lots of sweets. Then, the low part of my day: naptime. But, after naptime, auntie Bonnie was here. We had fun playing and running around. She even got me to laugh a little. I'm very discriminating. For dinner, Mommy, Daddy and auntie Bonnie had steaks while I had a delictable hot dog/pea/noodle dish. Highly recommended. Then it was time for the cupcakes. Not just any old cupcakes, but flaming 02 Thomas cupcakes! As you can see, they didn't let me get too close to the flame. That's allright. I had a ball listening to that silly "Happy Birthday" song again. That's the funniest song I know.
I like my birthday, lots of frosting and sweets.
Next it was on to the gifts. I still don't really care to open my presents, so I made Mommy do it. I just couldn't watch. But I got some cool stuff. Auntie Bonnie, uncle Todd, cousins Ellen and Ryan brought me a doctor kit complete with blood pressure kit, thermometer, syringe, and stethoscope. Gee, it sure will be nice to have a doctor in the family--finally.
What's next, Mama?
Awesome, a book. I love listening to books.
Auntie Bonnie and I posed for a few shots.
Then I kissed her bye-bye and she was back on her way to the hotel. It sure was a good birthday. Mommy checked her email later and showed me all the birthday email wishes and e-cards from everyone. Thank you! I especially liked the Lego e-card from Z and J, AKA: West Des Moines' number one Say Cheese fans. And I liked the cards I received from both Deeba and Deepas (Grandma and Grandpa in my language). I can't wait to see my Deepa and Deebas this weekend at my birthday part two! Thanks, everyone, for making it a wonderful 02 birthday.
