Too Sick to Smile

Man, Mommy sure looks like a dork in these pictures. She was trying hard to get me to smile, but I just would not do it. I didn't tell her at the time, but I was not feeling well when these pictures were taken. I still don't feel so well. This morning I barfed up my whole breakfast--through my nose. I started crying, it hurt really bad. I have also had problems with my other end, too, if you catch my drift. I recently grew another tooth (I'm up to 5!) and I think another one is coming in. I sure hope I feel better soon, playing and smiling just aren't that fun when you are sick.

Boy, Those Are Your Cousins

Hi. Yes, Lily and I are happy, we just choose not to show it. Why wouldn't we be happy? It's time for a playdate!

That's Jakie. He's happy. He's giving his "I'm a handsome man" smile. This is one of the few times he was actually standing still.

This is Jakie in his normal glory. Note the blurry photo, he is very swift and enjoys running around the circle in our house (that's Auntie Rasa chasing him). What would he do if there were no circle? I shudder to think...

Lily and I were left to fend for ourselves. Lily, what are you doing with that ribbon? I don't know if you are supposed to eat it, but who am I to say?

Ha ha. This is the best they could do. Why do Mommy and Auntie Rasa think they can get a photo of all three of us actually looking at the camera? Fools! We were all tired after the fun playdate. I think 'playdate' is just another word for 'wear the kids out so they sleep and leave Mommy alone for more than 15 minutes'. I sense a conspiracy here...

A Cure for the Monday Blahs

Got a case of the Monday Blahs? Feeling like you need to rip something? Don't rip your boss's head off. Instead follow these simple steps and you WILL feel better.

Step One: Stand tall at the kitchen table.

Step Two: Find something to pull down--magazine, food, cup of water; really anything will do. (Note how swift I am, the magazine is blurred by my fastness!)

Step Three: Start swimming in the pool of papers on the floor. Ahh, the Sunday ads truly are the best. Glossy goodness.

Step Four: Rip to your heart's content.

Mommy really doesn't find the joy in this. She says it makes her more frustrated when I do this. I will never understand Mommy.

Habitat for Lawn Equipment

Hi everyone. How are you all doing? I am fine, thanks for asking. I had a busy weekend over the Labor Day holiday.

Lots of laboring, I tells ya. Cashy and I decided to hang out in the jungle back yard. Daddy was protesting mowing and the grass was almost as long as me! I had fun trying to eat it.

After lounging in the yard with Cashy, I thought, "what should I do next?" The answer to that, of course, is puppy riding! This was one of my best rides ever. I think I lasted about 4 seconds on the puppy before being bucked off. He is very wild, even when he is tired.

Friday night Auntie Beth came from Iowa City to see just me! I am so privileged. Oh, I guess she came to see Mommy and Daddy as well. Maybe.

Just as any good subject would do, she gave me presents. She and Auntie Brandy gave me a really cool book about dogs. It even shows a doggie peeing! I wonder why Cashy doesn't lift his leg like the doggie in the book. I digress. Then she gave me another cool present...

Swords! Being a king, I definitely need these. I have to protect my kingdom.

"You'll never take my freedom!"

Looks like the fun continued after I went to bed. Daddy and Beth played Guitar Hero for several hours and had lots of fun. I guess they also played a game called X-Men.

The next day, I decided enough was enough. I am the king around here, and I decided the lawn equipment needed a home. So, I kindly asked Beth if she would help Daddy build the shed. She agreed it was the best thing for the lawn equipment.

They diligently worked for about 8 hours on Saturday and 2 more hours on Sunday. Mommy was impressed how well they did and I had fun supervising. All and all it was fun.

Here's where they left off as of Sunday. It sure looks good, dontcha think? Thanks, Auntie Beth for visiting and for helping Daddy with the shed. Maybe, just maybe, when we have the official shed christening we will name it after you. The Beth Shed for Homeless Lawn Equipment. Has a good ring to it. Tell Auntie Brandy that if she wants a shed named after her, she will have to visit. THAT will get her to visit me!
